Practical Details:

New students are welcome at any class, in studio based on availability, and online always.  Each session is taught at a flexible level to encourage a comfortable, self-paced learning experience.

Balance Studio strives to maintain a safe environment for in-person sessions. From their site:
"7/29/21: As per WA State and King County guidelines, our doors are fully open. For those attending class in person, we kindly ask you to wear a mask (available at the studio for free if needed). Daily symptom checks for all staff and participants continue in addition to daily cleaning/disinfecting, and maintenance of ventilation and air filtration systems. We are keeping a close eye on guidelines from the state and local level."

In the studio, we dance barefoot.  If you need dance shoes, they must be clean, non-marking, and used only indoors. Please see the instructor before trying out any new shoes.

To accommodate the chemically sensitive, please refrain from wearing scented products to class.

INCLEMENT WEATHER / COVID restrictions — In case of severe or threatening weather or covid escalations, please check Wassa Dance on Facebook or check back here for any cancellations.

— Testimonial —

"Wassa Dance is an experience in connecting ancient rhythms to the soul body in motion. It all starts from the ground up. Lara has a way of teaching you how to move with insight, clarity and exuberance. I noticed ways of moving and details of the dance I had never thought of before. Lara has a strong ability to bring your attention to the subtleties of African dance without losing the passion and joy of expression. She has a warrior's heart, a dancer's grace and she can get you shaking your booty in no time flat!"
